Job Introduction
Bradford Libraries is committed to providing a library service that enhances the quality of life for people and communities. A service that is inclusive and vibrant, supports wider district priorities, enables all users to learn, engage and remain connected to their communities at a local level. Our vision recognises the huge potential that libraries have to support the Council’s priorities and deliver more services, working in partnership with others.
This is an exciting time for Bradford. In this City of Culture year, we are seeking a graduate to join Bradford Council to help make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
We are looking for a high-performing, enthusiastic graduate who is ready to work across all aspects of the Library Service and has the skills and motivation needed to succeed.
This is a two-year fixed term role providing support for the Library Service to plan and prepare for major change as part of the City Centre Accommodation Programme. In addition, a variety of projects across the district will be coming on stream that will require from the successful post-holder considerable planning and preparation, liaison with corporate colleagues, engagement with staff and public, and preparation and dissemination of information.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Service and will be assisting the Library Management Team on programmes and projects from start to finish, along with learning and development support that will provide a good grounding in key elements of change and programme management.
The Library Service is a directly front-line public facing service and highly visible in the City Centre and across the district. This is a great opportunity to help to shape the Library Service of the future, supporting innovation and helping create new approaches to service delivery and processes.
This role will be supporting operational delivery in all aspects of the Library Service and will give a solid grounding in key aspects of local government. Our graduate programme provides a unique opportunity for high-calibre graduates wishing to help design and implement solutions during a time of change.
