Job Introduction
The Support Options Team is responsible for finding appropriate community support for people who want to live independently in their own home or have been assessed with a need to move into a residential and nursing placement.
We are looking for a Support Options Team Leader to join our new dedicated Care Homes Brokerage team in the Department of Adult Social Care. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- To provide day to day leadership and support to a team of Brokerage Officers, including performance management through carrying out regular supervisions and appraisals.
- To co-ordinate the allocation and control of the workload of a team of Brokerage Officers. To consult with staff within the teams, colleagues in Operational Services (both in the Department Adult Social Care and Children’s Services), Commissioning and Contract Management, Financial Support Services and the ICB on changes to working practices to ensure a good quality, efficient and effective services are delivered and maintained.
- To offer advice and guidance on legislation, policies and procedures relating to Personal Budgets to staff at all levels, people who need services and their relatives and liaise with internal and external agencies i.e. Social Work staff, CHC staff and commissioned providers.
An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
Please note the successful candidate will not commence the post until November 2025. This is due to the Care Home Brokerage Team being newly formed which will involve further recruitment and training.
